Launch Day 9th June 2006 10.30am.

What an exciting day

It was a glorious weekend, the weather

couldn't have been any better. The engine

returned a week earlier and was in thankfully

to Clive Rochfort, who has been

outstanding.  Nomad Life was ready to

be launched! We couldn't believe this after so many weekends working  solidly. Through so many obstacles, all those 10 min jobs turn out to be 2 hrs. There were moments when we felt really low and the fact that, of course we had gone well over our budget has vanished!!

What a perfect day to launch, 9 of June , beginning of the world cup, that was the first high out of many.

Many thanks to Paul who came in to save the day and make our electrics work so we could go ahead with the schedule lift in time. Nothing has been easy so far but now we where sure that it was

all worthwhile .

                                      Big thank you to

But even better than all that was the test drive . We got up early Saturday to get her ship shape for her test drive. Without Clive and Paul we would not have got away still. We completed Final checks and motored over to the pontoon opposite so we could face the wind to be able to put our main sail on. We completed this after an hour and off we went. We all motored out of Lymington Yacht Haven and felt free at last. We then came into wind and hoisted the main, all went well. The first time we had seen her up.  Then we let the jib out, but best came turning off the engine and sailing her. Wow, she is fantastic, points to wind very well and felt very secure. Poor Clive had to go out for another job, so we returned back to the Haven for the last time. After a quick lunch we set off to take her to our home for next 2 months.  Chichester Harbour.
